Executive Committee Members
Gill Prideaux (Chairperson) has been actively involved with sport during the last eighteen years and has been a qualified Fencing Coach for the past 11 years. She has also served ‘time’ as Secretary on a number of committees thereby gaining a thorough knowledge of organisation and committee work. At present Gill is the Secretary of Trafford Sword Club, where she also coaches Foil and Sabre. As Secretary of the British Fencing North West Coaching committee Gill is very involved with all aspects of coaching from administration to coach education. It is her hope that as Chairperson she will be able to give back to sports as much as she has received from it.
Hilbre Hockenhull (Secretary) is a member of the PE Department of South Trafford College where she lectures in and assesses NVQ’S in Sport. A major figure in Trampolining for over 25 years she has produced national champions, has judged for Great Britain and acts as tutor for coach and judge education. Hilbre organises all the competitions in the NW region and is involved in all national trampolining events, she is also Senior Coach of the Trafford Trampolining Club.
Penny Needham (Treasurer) has an HND in business studies and has been involved in sport all her life. She swam for both Urmston and Stretford ASC and currently she fences competitively at regional and national level – Penny won the 2002 British Intermediate Ladies Foil Championship and has been the North West Ladies Foil Champion for three years running. As a member of Trafford Sword Club she was Secretary for many years and is at present the Club Treasurer. Serving on the TSpC committee Penny aims to help promote the benefits of sport in Trafford.
Arthur Hockenhull (Asst. Sec) is a retired IT and science teacher at a Technology College. He is a coach at Trafford Trampoline Club. He serves on the British Gymnastics Trampolining Competition Committee and is the National Registration Secretary for Trampolining. He is responsible for the setting up and use of competition computers, in the North West and surrounding regions, used at national graded competitions.
